So this is a sort of present for my beloved boyfriend Steve.
Steve is a musician, he’s the guitarist and lead singer in his band “Room Next Door”. They’re doing classic great Rock Music. If you wanna hear some songs of their band, you can go to their Myspace page right here: [link]

So, before I met Steve, I didn’t know much about the process of making rock music. I’m totally into electronic music – Industrial, Noise, Hellectro and all types of music that sound like a construction site – so I had never seen an electric guitar up close, not to speak of holding one or even producing some kind of noises with it that must make every musician cringe…

I learned a lot about guitar equipment since that time, but my biggest fascination is that for a thing that is called a Wah-wah. I can’t really explain what a Wah-wah is and how it works, so this is what Wikipedia has to say to it:

Wah-wah is an imitative word (or onomatopoeia) for the sound of altering the resonance of musical notes to extend expressiveness, sounding much like a human voice saying the syllable wah. The wah-wah effect is a spectral glide, a "modification of the vowel quality of a tone" (Erickson 1975, p.72). Although this effect is thought of almost exclusively as the electric guitar wah-wah pedal, it is also used in other contexts.

So basically a Wah-wah makes the guitar sound go “wah-wah.”…. When I first heard the word, I thought “OMG, what a CUTE name for an electronic device!!!! It sounds totally like a kind of little creature!”
A Wah-wah has ever since been a sweet cuddly little thing for me, a small animal that lives inside the Wah-wah pedal box and sings all day long.

This is me and Steve’s Wah-wah. I know the little thing looks crappy – but we all know that animals are not my strong side. If anyone wants to draw a better Wah-wah for me – feel free to do so!
